When you sign up for an account
Your gender, if you provide such information, and birthdate may be used to identify content that you may find of interest and may assist in the provision of user catered advertising. Your display name, profile picture, and biographical paragraph if you chose to provide them along with your username will be visible to other users of Jibespot.
When users create a post or comment
Users may choose to share photos, video and text on Jibespot with other Jibespot users in the form of posts and comments. Users have the option to delete any post or comment they create. However, deleted content may survive on our servers for a period of time until deleted from the drive.
Jibespot requests access to users’ phone camera so that a user may capture videos and pictures. Users may decline such request.
Jibespot requests access to users’ phone microphone so that any videos captured may capture corresponding sound. Users may decline such request if declining camera access.
Jibespot requests access to users’ phone media if a user wishes to upload a video or picture for sharing on Jibespot. Users may decline such request.
Jibespot asks users for permission to send them notification alerts for items such as new ‘Jibes’ and comments on their posts and @mentions and similar notifications. If accepted, Apple sends Jibespot the user’s phone device token so that Jibespot can send notifications to that device. Users may decline such request.

We may also collect information to monitor our application’s performance (e.g., number of visits, average time spent) for use for our business purposes such as working to continually upgrade our application.
In addition, we collect the personal information that you submit to our application, such as your username, email address and any other contact or other information that you choose to provide during sign up and in the user settings page.
Where you request information from us, we may use the email address that you provide to send you information about content posted on Jibespot that we believe may be of interest to you. If we send you information by email, you may ask us to remove you from the email list at any time (using the unsubscribe instructions provided with each email). If you have asked us to put you on an email mailing list to provide you with certain information on a regular basis, or if we send you information about our offers on products and services by email, you may ask us to remove you from the list at any time (using the unsubscribe instructions provided with each email).
What About Links to Third Party Websites?
Our application may contain links to third party websites that may be subject to less stringent privacy standards. We cannot assume any responsibility for the privacy practices, policies or actions of the third parties that operate these websites. Jibespot is not responsible for how such third parties collect, use or disclose your personal information. Due to the nature of our account formation process, the fact that our application does not have anonymous accounts and the kinds of information we require to create an account, if you do choose to withdraw your consent to this Privacy Policy, which it is your right to do, your account will be terminated or suspended.
How Is Your Personal Information Protected?
Jibespot endeavours to maintain physical, technical and procedural safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information in question. These safeguards are designed to prevent your personal information from loss and unauthorized access, copying, use, modification or disclosure.
All data collected is encrypted on our servers. This is a service provided by our host provider Google. If we change service providers in the future we will continue to keep data safe with encryption. In addition, we have our own password encryption that we perform in addition to the encryption provided by our host provider. This means that user passwords are encrypted twice for safety.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while this application strives to protect your personal information, we cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once this application or Jibespot receives your transmission, we make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure its security on our systems.
Law Enforcement Requests
We will disclose personal information without your knowledge or consent if we receive an order, subpoena, warrant or other legal requirement issued by a court, tribunal, regulator or other person with jurisdiction to compel disclosure of your personal information. If we receive a request from a police officer or other law enforcement agency for access to your personal information in the course of an actual or potential investigation, our policy is to require the police officer or law enforcement agency to obtain an order, subpoena or warrant, unless the information is urgently required to prevent serious bodily injury or serious damage to personal property.
